And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father; fear not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham’s sake.”

For nothing will be impossible with God.

He must increase, but I must decrease.

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

Lent reminds us that we are never alone; we walk together in our shared humanity.

You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve; and you were made for each other.

Lent is the time to return to our own heart, to every hidden part of our being.

He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.
